We champion the cause for trainees. We feel the future of both our company, and the industry relies on the training of electricians. The training starts at school level. We have an arrangement with local secondary schools, and take on pupils for two weeks work experience every year. Whilst two weeks is not very long, we feel this provides the student with an insight into what it takes to become an electrician.
Our company looks to take on apprentices every year, and we pride ourselves in ensuring that they get a wide training base. We feel it important to rotate our trainees amongst the senior electricians, this way they get training from the most experienced staff.
We review the apprentices every three months, and give them a chance to air their views on any aspects of their employment. This review gives both the college and us an opportunity to gauge their achievements, and we reward them accordingly. Not withstanding this, the way our company is set up we feel that they can approach any one of our senior staff at any time if they are not happy.
